Get To Know Your Skin Type
Taking care of your skin can be a daunting task, especially if you’re not sure which products to use. With so many products available, choosing the right ones for your skin type can be quite overwhelming. Here is our guide to the best products to use for your skin type.
Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, your skin tends to produce excess oil, making it look shiny and greasy all the time. The best skincare products for oily skin include niacinamide, salicylic acid and glycolic acid. These ingredients will help control oil production and unclog pores, preventing acne and breakouts. The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid is a great option to add to your skincare regimen. Its formula is specially designed for oily skin types, and it helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and blackheads.
Dry Skin
When it comes to dry skin it’s important to look for products that will help restore moisture levels and protect your complexion. Hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides are the best ingredients to look for in skincare products. These ingredients will help replenish and retain moisture in the skin, making it hydrated and healthy. Gentle cleansers with no alcohol content will work wonders for your skin to avoid stripping away any remaining hydration.
Combination Skin
Combination skin is made up of both oily and dry areas, so you’ll need to find products that work for both and will balance out your skin to keep your complexion looking healthy. It's essential to use gentle, non-stripping cleansers and lightweight moisturizers to avoid clogging the pores in the oily areas and aggravating dry areas. A good skincare routine and a healthy diet will go a long way in keeping combination skin looking and feeling its best.
Acne-Prone Skin
Many products designed for acne can be too harsh and cause irritation to your skin so we need to choose carefully. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are the best ingredients for acne-prone skin as they help to unclog pores and clear acne-causing bacteria. Look out for products that include niacinamide as an ingredient - this will help to regulate sebum production and reduce breakouts. Paula’s Choice Niacinamide 20% is a great choice!

Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive skin then you know all about irritation. It’s important to choose skincare products that are fragrance-free and contain no harsh ingredients that are gentle on your skin. Alpha hydroxy acids, retinoids, and antibacterial agents are ingredients that should be avoided. A product we love for sensitive skin is Drunk Elephant's Lala Retro Whipped Cream. It’s free of essential oils, fragrance and silicones making it perfect for you.
Mature Skin
As we age, our skin loses elasticity and firmness and can also be very sensitive due to reduced collagen production so it’s important to treat it with care. Skincare products that contain vitamin c and anti-aging ingredients help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while keeping the skin hydrated all day long. Day and night creams will be your best friend and steer away from cleansers that have harsh chemicals as this will irritate the skin.
