Fabric characteristics:
During the first few weeks, fabric nodules may form ("Pilling"). Remove those nodules like you would with woolen sweaters. With microfiber, chenille and velour fabrics, seat shading, the so called "sitting marks" are unavoidable. Note that fabrics may stain onto other fabrics. Jeans is made in a way that during "stone wash" some pigments dissolve. This also happens when wearing jeans. Especially if your sofa's cover is made from light fabrics you want check whether these types of clothing stain. Reversely, furniture fabrics may also slightly stain. Don't place your sofa right in front of a wall and check staining traits using a white tissue - especially with red upholstery fabrics. If the sofa does stain, vacuum it with low suction or treat its contact areas with a cloth soaked in vinegar water

New cushions will change over the first weeks of use, experts call this "breaking in". This is why you will experience some wave formation in the seat and back area and seat firmness will decrease. In these first few weeks, the cover material will stretch while the padding layer is compressed. This is quite normal and is no reason for complaint. Smooth out the cover by stroking it to the left and right towards the armrests. Functionality and longevity will then remain unlimited.

Care:
Vacuum clean your upholstery weekly. Choose low suction and use your vacuum cleaner's special upholstery nozzle. This weekly maintenance is especially
important with light fabrics. Damp clean your upholstery one to two times a year to remove oily and greasy dirt particles. Leave this "basic cleaning" to a specialist for upholstery treatment.
