This elegant rectangular match box from Archivist contains extra long match sticks that make lighting fires and storm lanterns a breeze. Adorned with an elephant-themed print.
  • Matches should be stored in a dry and temperate place, away from all sources of ignition and other highly flammable products, handling and storage requirements are made to minimise the likelihood of fire starting and spreading
  • Contains 45 matches, each measuring 280mm long
  • Composition: Potassium of chlorate, red amorphous phosphorus, paraffin (paraffin waxes, petroleum, clay- treated). Classification, labelling, packaging (ec) n°1272/2008. en1791
  • Dimensions: 29.5 x 6 x 3cm
  • WARNING: As Per SDS, matches consist of an impregnated wooden stick dipped in a head composition, splints are made from wood coated with boric acid and phosphoric acid to prevent afterglow. Before the head is applied, each splint is dipped in paraffin wax as a supplementary fuel. The product is contained in boxes manufactured from recycled cardboard. Part of the outside of the matchbox is coated with a chemically active paint against which the matches are be struck. Matches contain many ingredients including potassium chlorate as an active component, remaining materials are animal glue or gelatine as a binder and various inert mineral fillers to moderate the combustion, in addition they contain pigments or dye-stuffs to impart a colour to the match head. A single match typically contains 20mg of composition, striking surface contains red amorphous phosphorus at about 70% of the dry solids, friction panel will typically have around 0.03gm/mm2 of red amorphous phosphorus
