Founder of Loulerie Jewellery, gives us an insight into why she loves shoes!
There is no typical day for me, every day is totally different! This is the main thing I love about working with Jewellery. My style has changed over the years, I don’t live in high heels like I used to when I was in New York – I save extra high heels for special occasions now. I have two stores and I’m a Mom of two so I’m either on a school run, running across town from Chatham St. to our Arnotts location or on a buying trip so I really need to be comfortable but also stylish in my shoes.
I always feel better in shoes that are comfortable but have a little extra detail so I still feel dressed up. I adore these Princely shoes I’ve chosen from Kurt Geiger London. I’ve styled these pretty jewelled flats with cropped flare pants and a soft cashmere sweater from Essentiel Antwerp. They work well with crisp denim jeans and a simple t-shirt too, as the jewelled detail is so pretty I think that should be the focus of the outfit. It really is the perfect outfit for meeting friends for brunch in town. The soft neutral tone of the shoe is perfect for dressing up with a floaty maxi dress for Summer occasions.
I was asked recently if I could step into anyone’s shoes – who and why? I think it would have to be Anna Dello Russo, the Italian editor of Vogue Japan. I saw her once at Paris Fashion Week in the most sky scraping heels I have ever seen, she really has fun with fashion and is an individual so I think it would be interesting to see the world from her perspective. I think my shoes say that I’m a fashion lover, appreciate good quality and have fun with what I’m doing. My go to favourites in the Shoe Gallery are Kurt Geiger, Sam Edelman and Paul Green.
