Skincare Inspiration
for Glowing Skin in 2021

Let’s talk about the skincare ingredients that are guaranteed to get you glowing this year, including polyhydroxy acid and salicylic acid, liquorice root extract, vitamin A, niacinamide.

Polyhydroxy acid

Polyhydroxy acid is an ingredient you may be more familiar with in the last year or two – it's a very mild exfoliating acid which is very respectful to the skin and has a large molecule, so acts in a controlled manner. We’ve included a very small amount of polyhydroxy acid in our mild, nourishing, creamy lotion cleanser, Skingredients® PreProbiotic Cleanse, for a hint of AM and PM exfoliation. Dull skin is often as result of a build-up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, so exfoliating is very important for radiance.

Salicylic acid

For the oily-skinned and spot-prone hoomans, salicylic acid is the exfoliating acid for you as it helps to exfoliate while also dissolving debris in the pore! Skingredients® Sally Cleanse contains 2% salicylic acid – the highest amount permitted for use in the EU in cosmetic products – for your twice weekly exfoliation at nighttime.

Vitamin A

Another ingredient that helps to speed up skin cell turnover is vitamin A. Most know vitamin A as retinol, but we opted to use a different form of vitamin A, the fat-form, retinyl palmitate, in our Skingredients® Skin Protein serum. Retinyl palmitate is more tolerable to skins, including sensitive skin, and works in a “low and slow” manner for similar results with less likelihood of irritation. We call the result of using vitamin A for a while the vitamin A glow – skin tends to look plumper, more youthful and fresher.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is super effective at targeting pigment and can also reduce the appearance of pore size, as well as moisturising the skin. Skingredients® Skin Shield SPF 50 PA+++ contains niacinamide alongside your usual high levels of daily UVA, UVB, antioxidant, pollution and blue light protection.
